Road safety at St Mary’s College
As an inner-city school, awareness of parking and traffic contributes to creating a safer environment for all.
Families are reminded to be aware of the following rules, outlined in the document below, when dropping off and collecting their children from school by car, especially when using Harrington and Brisbane Streets, which are particularly busy zones during these high-traffic times.
View the SMC Traffic Safety brochure here.
St Mary’s College Bus Services
Conveniently located on Harrington Street in Hobart, St Mary’s College students have direct access to an extensive bus network just outside the College gates and is only a 10-minute walk to the Elizabeth Street Mall.
The St Mary’s College bus service is available to St Mary’s College Junior School students (Kinder to Year 6)
The bus, which is owned and operated by St Mary’s College, will be driven by St Mary’s College bus staff and is seatbelt-equipped.
View the bus timetable, route map, and pickup/drop-off points below.
Please note this is not a door-to-door service. You will need to drop off and pick up your child from one of the locations listed in the link at the times listed.
The College uses RollCall to manage bookings and payments. Our bus operates as a cashless service. Students will be issued with an individual SMC student bus card, which they will need to tap on and off the bus with. These cards will be issued to the students after they have been registered as users by their parent/carer and will be handed to them the first time they use the bus.
Families can select a cashless pay-per-term option or a cashless pay-as-you-go option. For 2026, the fee per student is $250/term and the casual user fee is $4.00/trip.
Families will not be reimbursed for days when the service is not utilised when opting for the pay-per-term option.
Money can be added to the card through the Roll Call Parent App. You must book your child’s seat for each bus trip for attendance purposes. You will also have the ability to book ahead of time via the app and plan your child/children’s bus journeys. Please notify the bus driver via the app if your child is absent and not using the bus service on any given day.
Students must adhere to the Bus Program Guidelines and Procedures.
Please direct any enquiries about the bus service [email protected].
