Junior School Swimming Carnival preparations

Written by Michaela Brighella. Posted in Sport/Activity News, Timeline

Our annual Junior School Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday 13 February (Week 2) at the Clarence YMCA Aquatic Centre, commencing at 9.30am.

It is expected that all students participate in the carnival. If your child cannot participate for any reason, please contact their class teacher.

We encourage parents to discuss with their daughter/s the events she will enter. As the College uses the full 50m pool for the 50m events, only those students who can completely swim a full 50m length (and have done so previously without the need to stop), should enter those events.

If your daughter is unsure of her ability to swim this entire length, she should consider entering the 25m or novelty events.

All 50m events will be timed. Swimmers with the fastest times recorded in the 50m events will go on to compete at the JSSATIS and STCPSSA representative carnivals (not the heat winners).

We would really appreciate any parents/carers who could assist us with running the carnival. If you can help out, please email Fiona Rhodes at frhodes@smc.tas.edu.au

We hope to see you there to support and cheer on our girls!
