There are many opportunities for parents and carers to become more involved in the College as a volunteer.
Classroom teachers always eagerly welcome parents who would like to assist with art and craft activities, cooking and various other classroom activities. Parent help is also appreciated for excursions. For busy parents who may not be able to attend excursions or assist in the classrooms during the day, packs can be prepared by classroom teachers for home help. i.e. preparing activities, book covering and sewing of simple costumes for the Junior School musical.
The College is especially grateful for parent volunteers assisting with the various sport carnivals and taking on coach, manager and umpire roles for team sports. Without the generosity of our parent community, it wouldn’t be possible to enter the vast amount of team sports that we do, which our students so thoroughly enjoy.
Police Checks and Working with Vulnerable People Registrations
Before becoming involved in coaching a sport, assisting in the classroom or on an excursion, we ask that all volunteers first complete an Official Police Check, as is the standard requirement for all Catholic schools. Any person working in a Catholic school is required to do this to ensure the utmost safety of our students. Police Check forms are available at the Business Office.
In addition to a Police Check you will now need to have a Working with Vulnerable People Registration. This is a requirement under legislation. Below is a link to an information flyer that provides more information. This Registration is additional to the normal Police Check that is also required.
