Each year, Senior School students step away from the everyday rhythm of school life to pause, reflect and explore their growing sense of spirituality and identity.
Our Year 7s were the latest cohort to take part in the program, gathering recently at New Town Rowing Club for a Retreat Day centred on connection and kindness.
As they explored what it means to be Presentation people living in the spirit of Nano Nagle, students created welcome postcards for new SMC staff and students, along with handmade pocket hearts to gift to someone who may need a little extra care and encouragement.
Continuing a much-loved tradition, each Year 7 student added their name and handprint to the ‘Class of 2031’ banner, which they will contribute to annually until they graduate in Year 12.
Congratulations and well done to all Year 7s for their participation and enthusiasm during their Retreat day and thank you to SMC staff members – Mrs Sharon Lawler, Mrs Fiona Chambers, Mrs Selma Murphy, Miss Lucy Ryan, Mrs Irene Knauseder and Miss Ellie Brown – as well as Leanne Prichard from Catholic Education Tasmania for their assistance with the program.
We look forward to sharing more Retreat highlights in the coming months.
