We were delighted to welcome alumna Imogen Barry-Murphy (class of 2018) back to the College recently to meet with and speak to our Year 11/12 Housing and Design class.
In 2018, Imogen won a scholarship to study an accelerated Bachelor of Architectural Studies at Bond University.
Now armed with her degree, she has her sights set on a career in architecture, focusing on small housing design and simple affordable housing.
For her final project, Imogen prepared a renovation proposal for the Bond University student accommodation precinct, which our students had the opportunity to view during her visit, along with an impressive portfolio of design work.
The class also received a visit from Paddy Dorney, a Hobart-based architecture professional and mentor, and son of Tasmania’s best-known architect, Esmond Dorney.
Paddy gave a fascinating insight into Tasmania’s architecture and how it has developed over the years. He also shared the history and innovation behind his father’s great designs.
