From Monday 22 to Sunday 28 of March, St Mary’s College competed in the Australian Rowing Championship at Lake Barrington.
Everyone performed exceptionally well with the Open rowers placing 14th overall in their quadruple scull, Under 16 girls making the semi- finals in both their Under 17 double scull and the Under 17 quadruple scull and the Under 15 girls placing 8th in their repercharge.
All of these aspiring young women should be proud of their efforts. The opportunity to represent their college at a local, national event was overwhelmingly brilliant. All competitors were given the opportunity to row next to future and current Olympic representatives and see how big the world of rowing can really get. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to row nationally on home territory has sparked interest to continue rowing, to the later stages of life.
The rowers chosen to represent the College were:

Elizabeth Monks and Harriet Kelly
