Legacy of Light Art Exhibition

Posted on in General

The opening night of our Legacy of Light Art Exhibition offered a vibrant celebration of student creativity and a moving tribute to the Presentation Sisters, whose courage, faith and commitment laid the foundations of our College.

Held in St Peter’s Hall on Wednesday 19 August, the exhibition showcased eight commissioned portraits created by the College’s senior Art students, alongside K–10 artworks, historical artefacts, photographs and stories drawn from our College archives. Together, these pieces illuminated the enduring legacy of the Presentation Sisters and the values that continue to shape our community.

Guests enjoyed light refreshments and performances from our student choir and musicians as they browsed the displays, which spanned an array of mediums, from paintings and ceramics to mixed media and textiles.

The evening concluded with a presentation of bouquets to our Presentation Sisters, followed by an address from Sister Majella Kelly, on behalf of our treasured Presentation Sisters.

Miss Emma Havard, Learning Leader of Visual Arts, noted, “An exhibition of this scale is never the work of one department alone, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this celebration of 250 years of the Presentation story to life.”

The exhibition remained open at the College throughout the remainder of the week, giving students, staff and families the opportunity to explore the artworks at their own pace.
