Marching for girls’ education

On Saturday 3 November the College’s Justice Action Network rallied together again to make a change. This time it was to raise awareness for equal and fair access for all girls to education.
Students marched from Franklin Square to Parliament Lawns holding banners.

Once arriving at Parliament Lawns, we joined with students from Mackillop College, The Friends’ School and Sacred Heart College to share songs, poems and speeches about the issue of girls’ education.

Isabella Cox (Year 9) was our fantastic MC, and Shea Williams and Stella Barnhoorn (Year 12), made notable contributions. Two politicians from our community also spoke at the event – Jo Siekja, Labour MP and Helen Burnett, Greens MP.
