The College was delighted to welcome St Mary’s Alumna, Marnie Hughes-Warrington on October 29 to mark the official opening and blessing of the Hughes-Warrington Learning Hub, named in her honour.

Professor Hughes-Warrington, who graduated from SMC in 1987, is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Her name is mentioned in various contexts within St Mary’s College with respect and awe, because her academic achievements are simply outstanding!

In particular, we are very proud to claim Professor Hughes-Warrington as our only Rhodes Scholar in the 113 years of the award.

The Hughes-Warrington Learning Hub will provide an inspirational and collaborative space for educators at St Mary’s College to encourage young minds to reach their full potential.

You can read more about Professor Hughes-Warrington and the College’s behind the new Learning Hub in our Director of Pedagogy’s blog post here.
