Career Conversations Evening

What do a neuroscientist, engineer, chief executive officer, global businesswoman/philanthropist, expert in human genetics and a research manager in the fields of geochemistry, sensors, sensor networks and ICT have in common?

They will all be guest speakers on the panel at the St Mary’s College ‘Career Conversations Evening’ on Tuesday 13 June.

The evening is a fantastic opportunity for students and parents to hear from leading professionals from a range of different career paths and industries, including:

  • Associate Professor Kathryn Burdon (principal research fellow, Menzies Institute for Medical Research, Tasmania).
  • Vanessa Cox (global businesswoman, international speaker and philanthropist).
  • Caitlin Bender (final-year biomedical engineering student, University of Tasmania).
  • James Bender (neuroscientist and PhD candidate, Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre).
  • Will Kestin (chief executive officer, TasICT).

Participants will receive valuable information and advice on how to carve out a career in their chosen field, while learning about career paths they never knew existed.

There will also be time to pick the experts’ brain in an informal Q&A style panel.

The event will run from 7.00-8.30pm in Nagle Centre, St Mary’s College (off Brisbane Street). We look forward to seeing you there.
