On Wednesday 9 May we celebrated the love, compassion and dedication of our wonderful mums.
From 7.30am that morning, our leading ladies were treated to a breakfast feast provided by our generous and hard-working SMC dads. Thank you to the P&F Association for organising such a wonderful event for our school community.
Our Kindergarten boys and girls also had the opportunity to shower their mums with love and affection on May 9, as they hosted a special afternoon tea in their classrooms, complete with yummy food and lots of singing.
Thank you to all our mums, grandmothers and female mentors for all that you do in making our world so wonderful and bright.

Getting tech savvy…
Year 4 Bluegums put an innovative spin on their Mother’s Day gifts this year.
Lindy Lack’s class created pictures representing their mothers using the Word Cloud app.
The girls wrote words that described their mothers, chose colours and fonts, as well as the arrangement of words, before adding a border and framed them. Impressive!
Pop! Fizz! Bang!
Meanwhile, the Majella Kelly Science Centre was buzzing with energy and excitement on May 9 as Karen Walter’s Year 7 Science class experimented with making bath bombs, which were gifted to their mums for Mother’s Day.
Students enjoyed the chance to get their hands ‘dirty’, as they worked with a concoction of baking soda, citric acid, water, oil food colouring and Epsom salts to produce their colourful and sweet-smelling creations.
