Senior School
We offer a broad and stimulating curriculum which provides a range of learning experiences to ensure that all students have the opportunity to fulfil their potential now and in the future.
The core subjects of Religion, English, Mathematics, Science and Society and History are taught by as small a number of teachers as feasible, especially in Grades 7 and 8, and Home Room teachers provide a focus for each student.
Activity days and retreats
Participation in activity days helps the girls to develop self-confidence and creates a sense of team membership and a group identity within the year group. Retreats reinforce this process and enrich it by enabling girls to grow closer to God and to explore their own spirituality.
Core subjects
All girls study the following courses:
Optional elective subjects
In Grades 9 and 10 girls study compulsory core subjects and supplement these with three elective subjects.
Elective subjects offered to students in Grade 9 and 10 include:
Information Evenings are conducted for students entering Grades 9, 10 and 11 (and their parents) to assist students to make appropriate subject choices which will lead to the successful completion of their Grade 12 studies at the College.
When choosing subjects for Grades 11 and 12, individual subject counselling is offered by a team of teachers in order to ensure that each student is given the opportunity to study a course of subjects best suited to her individual needs. To this end, the curriculum is catering for individual needs and abilities.
Students in Grade 11 & 12 are offered a full range of TQA accredited subjects and a choice of VET qualifications and units of competency.
