The end of an era: Year 2 boys farewelled

Posted on in Junior School

On Friday 1 December we farewelled our Year 2 boys with a liturgy and graduation ceremony held at St Mary’s Cathedral. As we reflect on their happy times at the College, we celebrate a year group that cared deeply for one another and forged many lasting friendships.

After 155 years of educating boys in the early years, this year marks the last cohort of male students to graduate from St Mary’s College.

Along with proud parents and teachers, it was very special to have a number of past boys of SMC from St Virgil’s College and Guilford Young College join the Year 2s at their graduation.

Good luck, boys and best wishes for a bright future. We will miss you!

The boys really have brought wonderful life to our College. I know that you’ll still connect with the girls who are here and hopefully you’ll follow each other’s journeys right through. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of some areas in our journey, it’s been fantastic, and we know that you’ll all look after each other. – Principal Damian Messer
